charging batteries
Should I leave my cart on charge full time when not in use? Also how much does this effect power bill?

Re: charging batteries
It depends on which battery charger you are using.
The DPI Accusense charger I have goes into float charge after regular charging cycle ends, so it stays connected to cart when the cart is not being driven, unless I know I'll be using the cart again within a couple hours or so. If your charger does not float charge, it doesn't matter if the charger is plugged into to cart or not after the regular charging cycle ends. However, a charge cycle ought to be initiated at least every 30 days with that type charger. As for the electric bill, my charger which is on all the time, probably isn't any more expensive than leaving an incandescent porch light on at night. (Which I don't do, I use LED bulbs and motion sensors.) |
