You need the resistor and diode in place before using it.

400 amp solenoid:
Precharge Resistor- 10W/470 ohm
Diode- 3 amp

On the diode, place the side with the band on it to the small post with the positive activation wire and then the other end to the other small post.

Resistor goes between the two (2) large posts. Either direction is fine. (Be sure the terminal ends from the resistor are on top of the cable lugs and not under it)

Do not add a pre-charge resistor to a Regen-2 cart, it will cause the controller to malfunction.

Your description of the reverse buzzer sounding when the main solenoid posts were jumped indicates the OBC has failed.

The OBC on a Regen-2 provides the power to the entire cart logic system, including Controller pin #1 which keeps the filter capacitors charged.

If the OBC is still working for charging, you can by-pass the "logic power" section of the OBC and keep it for charging only.

Cut the blue wire between the OBC and the 6-pin connector, about 1" from the OBC.

Put electrical tape on the blue wiring coming off the OBC so it will not short against anything.

Splice the blue wire that goes to the connector with the white wire. Just peel a section of insulation off the white wire and splice the blue into the white.

That will allow the logic power to be controlled by the Tow/Run switch.

The only side effect is that the cart will still be drivable when the charger is plugged in, so pass the charger cord through the steering wheel before plugging into the cart.

I agree with the bad solenoid based on your tests.
