Default new batteries no power

hello,
i just got a 93 ez go marathon. i replaced the batteries and the solenoid clicks and it tries to move but acts like the batteries are dead.
i jacked up the rear end and the tires spun when there was no load. how can i tell if the motor is going bad?

thanks,

Well it’s probably not the motor. Usually when it runs in the air but not under load it could mean bad batteries but you have new ones. There seems to be lots of resistance somewhere. Check your f/r switch too make sure it’s ok

when it does that.....with the cart on the ground.....does it sound like the motor is running but just not going anywhere? if so, look at the drivers side axel nut and see if it is spinning when you attempt to make the cart move. if it does, that's your problem, the hub is stripped. its a fairly common ezgo problem.

thanks everyone for the advise and downloadable manuals.
i borrowed the service manual i needed from the local golf course, went through the whole trouble shooting process and still found nothing wrong.
i took the forward\reverse switch off and cleaned it, also the axle is not spinning in the hub.
would worn brushes in the motor cause this symptom?
thanks again
