Re: RXV Noise coming from Motor or Rear End??
It's hard to tell from the sound on the video, but it sounds like the typical noise from the RXV rear end. I've had several RXV from 2008 models to 2014 models. Only the 2014 was quiet in the rear end.

RXV motor is very quiet.
Noise is usually gear whine. Best (only 100% guaranteed) fix is new rear end. replacing input shaft bearings helps in many cases... but only about 1/2 the time and still leaves some noise. |

I believe it can be heard better over computer speakers vs phone speaker. I will try and get a better video.

Re: RXV Noise coming from Motor or Rear End??
There are hundreds of RXV's in my town with more on the road everyday it seems. Some are noisier than others but all are louder than the DC carts. But it's relative as most DC carts are almost silent except for tire noise.
Mine, a 2012, is silent under acceleration and cruise but wines a little under regen. The locals (shops) agree with HiTechRedNeck. |

Re: RXV Noise coming from Motor or Rear End??
Input shaft gear and bearings problems seem to be prevalent in Rxv axles. Some times it's just bearings. Some times a whole new input shaft fixes it. Sometimes the gear that meshes with the input shaft is screwed too. That's when it gets expensive. I would start with input shaft bearings. And replace the stock fluid with actual gear oil, and it must have friction modifier for the posi.
