Exclamation Replacement Batteries???

What would be the problem with replacing the 6 - 6volt batts in my golf cart with 3 - 12volt batts? Typical cart batts have low Ah ratings so I was "thinking" why not replace the 6 deep cycle low Ah batts with something like 3 deep cell trolling motor batts for longer life between charges. Would be a heck of a lot cheaper too! Wrong thinking here or would this work???

36V is 36V, so it will work, but the cart won't go very far and the batteries won't least very long before they need to be replaced.

The standard 36V battery pack consisted of six 6V 225AH batteries, which has 8.1kWh of energy storage. Premium grade 6V batteries with 260AH are available and provide 9.36kWH of energy storage.

The highest AH 12V deep cycle batteries is only 155AH, for 5.58kWh of energy storage, or 2.52kWh LESS energy storage than the standard 36V golf cart battery pack and 3.78kWh LESS than a premium grade 36V battery pack.

The marine batteries that are typically used with trolling motors are 100AH or LESS, so they even less suitable than 12V golf cart batteries, which unlike marine batteries, are true deep cycle batteries.

ALSO: I noticed you stated something along the lines of "longer life between charges" and there are two problems with that thought.
1. First and foremost, The batteries need to be recharged after each use. The longer a FLA battery sits in a partially discharged state, the sooner it will need to be replaced.

2. You got the low AH vs high AH batteries backwards. 12V = low AH while 6V = high AH.
Attached is a list showing relative kWh for 36V, 42V and 48V battery packs consisting of various economy, standard and premium grade 6V (black), 8V (blue) and 12V (red) lead-acid wet-cell deep cycle golf cart batteries.
