Default Re: Monroe Rear Shocks & Brake Flip- CAUTION

Much appreciated Swan! At this point I will install the Monroe's since they have been bought and painted and my OE shocks are wore out. Per the numbers the shocks will only be 1/2" away from center travel point. With the 1-1/4" available travel it should be adequate as long as I don't get crazy. If the leaf springs do their job then the Monroe's should be fine for dampening. If this was an independent suspension system, I wouldn't attempt it. I just wish I had done this back when I had the rear body piece removed.

you should be fine , i have not had a problem. but interesting now if I go to replace I may have to drop the rear down to get new ones in. They were put in a few different cars and that more weight the a DS .1982 Chrysler Cordoba , 1983 Plymouth Gran Fury, and a 1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue just to name a few. Back when I did it to mine there was no o'reillys around so I went to Advanced site and looked the Cordoba and came up with the #55829 number .
