Thinking about switching over to 12 volt batteries
So in what seems like my never-ending Quest to get more speed and torque and enjoyment out of my 36 volt E-Z-Go shuttle I am now at the juncture of where I need to switch over to 48. Now I am thinking because 90% of this golf carts use is on the roads at Fort Wilderness Disney that I can be just fine with four 12 volt batteries. I don't have room to add two more 6 volt batteries like I had originally planned, and I don't really want to mess with getting 8 volt batteries and having to deal with getting a voltage reducer for all my other 12 volt Electronics. What are your thoughts on this?

4x 1275 batteries will give dismal results for range, and "punch", lifespan will be shorter too.

Whatever you do, I would use a voltage reducer.

Re: Thinking about switching over to 12 volt batteries
I have a 36v shuttle that I converted to 48v. The stock 36v voltage reducer works on 48v just as did before the upgrade so yours will probably be fine as is. Even if it wasn't, swapping out a voltage reducer costs all of about $40 and takes all of about 20 mins to do.

Re: Thinking about switching over to 12 volt batteries
We convert RXV's to 6x8v batts because of the poor performance of 12v batts....
and regardless of batt voltage ---- USE A REDUCER |
