Default New to me Project RXV

Thanks to LukeL, I bought a chassis for a 2013 RXV 2+2 Shuttle Hybrid...

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...tle-frame.html

I will use the parts from my wrecked 2012 RXV to restore this one.

I towed it behind my daily driver until I could meet up with my friend that was hauling a 2Five that I bought home for me. Some photos of my favorite way of towing a golf cart. I buy a 2" ball tow coupler that is for a 3 1/2" trailer drawbar. About $23 + tax at WalMart. And a 1/2" X 1 1/3" long galvanized bolt, 2 washers, and a 1/2" nut to bolt it underneath the Tow Bolt hole at the front of the frame. The motor is removed to allow the axle to freewheel, and install a pair of 20" street trailer tires. About $57 each at WalMart. Drop the frame front onto the hitch ball and you have a trailer to haul home...

I added an LED trailer light kit so I could tow it at night.

Bob

You got a Ezgo gas/electric hybrid? An "Exceed"? We still have the generator system from the one we got. Couldn't sell it to save our lives (ended up selling it as a regular Rxv). How they thought a crude, noisey setup was gonna sell, I dont know. And worst of all, it only charged at about 7 amps. Was a loud motor, servicing it was horrible. Worst attempt ever to "crossover". All they had to do was put a quiet Yamaha or Honda setup on there, and it would have been viable. Loud single cylinder generator? Where? On the golf course, nope! Hunting deer, nope! I'm not sure where they thought that setup could fit in.

It was donated to a college by E-Z-GO and the college kids took a sawzall to it... The generator was removed along with the motor, batteries, controller, lights, and harness. They left the basic chassis mostly undamaged. It looks like the college kids sawed a lot of the plastic just for the heck of it.

I will be removing the hybrid body with fuel tank and building it up as an electric RXV with a lithium battery pack.

Exceeds did so well that they got donated to schools? Ouch,. A cool idea, horribly executed. (Sounds like the Textron I know)

I was really impressed by the “trailer” method [emoji16] It worked great. And BTW to you guys that know about both, the Cushman and that RXV came from the same place...

One of the guys where I got it said they didn’t have the Torx wrench required to remove the bolts by the seat hinges and they couldn’t get to the controller to mess it up- so they hacked up the body.
