Electrical help, Hooking up led lights and radio
Planning on putting in a radio in dash (already have a cut out for it) and speakers and led lights like under glows and etc... is there a convert I can buy that would allow me to hook everything up to it? Like one power reducer or converter for all accessories? Any recommendations? How should I attach, to first or last battery or have heard positive terminal on first battery and negative on last. More than likely will do led lights under the cart first. Where do I start :)

https://www.cartsunlimited.net/12v-reducers.html
It uses the whole battery pack and reduces it to 12v. You can then run the 12v out of the reducer to a fuse block, preferably a marine grade one. Run the + for your 12v accessories from there. |

Re: Electrical help, booking up led lights and radio
is a fuse block something that is a must??? My plan for reducer is to hook up led underflow lights and a radio in future. Probably it. The led underflow lights have an inline fuse. Could i just use inline fuses for everything i add (these 2 or maybe 1 more thing) or do you need the fuse box?
My cart already has headlight and tail lights. No clue how they are wired up right now but they work???? Figured i would leave them as is. Don't think there is a reducer anywhere already though that i can see. They can also turn on with cart being turned off. |

Re: Electrical help, booking up led lights and radio
What model is your cart? What battery combination does it have?
A fuse block powered by a reducer is really the best way to add accessories. If your cart has 12V batteries, it is possible that your existing lights may wired directly to one 12V battery. While that works, it isn't the best way to do it as it unbalances that one battery from the pack. If more accessories get added that way, it will be even less optimum. The reducer eliminates that unbalance condition especially if you plan on adding a radio. |

It’s a ezgo txt 48v cart. Think it’s 6 8v batteries. They are Trojan. I did go ahead and get the fuse block and reducer.

I've done it both ways. You can do it either way. The fuse block is better.
