my $27 solution: oontz angle bluetooth speaker mounted above my mirror on bent sheet metal attached with velcro
very effective for a golf cart music, unless you need the thump of a subwoofer

I have the Fugoo bluetooth speaker mounted in my Precedent. It's completely waterproof, loud, and crystal clear. I have it mounted (2 bolts) between the front and rear seats so that it is nearly invisible, yet sounds great to all passengers. I did not want to go with a regular stereo and speakers as I have had too many of them stolen in the past. It's bad enough when they steal them, but usually the damage caused by the scumbags is usually worse than losing the stereo.

I prefer Bluetooth speakers these days given how frequently technology changes. I recently got one of these for a cart I built and love it. Magnetic so I mounted it to the front strut by the windshield. Great sound for the size.

Here's what you need. Has radio, CD player and bluetooth. Everything in one package and under your budget. I can't speak to the sound quality, however. Might be worth searching for reviews of this product.

Good Luck!

Default Stereo system

If you go with a mount that holds a single din stereo, I recommend the Pyle PLMRB29B. I bought my cart with an overhead console and partially working stereo with CD and two 6.5” speakers that hardly worked then I found remnants of a wasps nest in one of the speakers. I replaced the stereo with that waterproof marine Pyle and could not believe the weight different with no CD player! Then I replaced the speakers with Pyle PLMR60B waterproof marine speakers. For the stereo and speakers I spent $60 on Amazon and Walmart. They work great. Then I velcroed the remote to the inside door of my dash compartment. I think the console I have is a GMT400. It was originally mounted on the front roof struts but I wanted a mirror so I made some brackets and mounted it on the rear struts that are a little wider.
