Default Noisy motor

so im digging into this ezgo. Its a 2001 series 36v. Its had a loud noise from the rear end, I suspected the input shaft/bearing. So I pulled it tonight, bearing and shaft look perfect. Spin the wheels by hand with the motor out, its nice and quiet. Reinstall the motor and its 10x louder than it qas before. Its really loud. So the noise is definitely coming from the motor. I'm guessing the bearing in the back, unless there's something else in there that can be noisy?

Ill pull the motor again tomorrow and take jt apart to see, but any pointers on what to look for would be much appreciated. Thanks!

it is the bearing in the back of the motor. The dust cap doesn't do a very good job of keeping water and mud out apparently

What a MOTHER to get that sonofabitch outta there too..... light tap with a hammer to get the armature out of the bearing to access the snap ring my butt!

That sounds like a painful place to keep your snap-rings....

Yes! Not to mention I smashed the crap out of my thumb trying to get the armature out...

Picked up a new bearing from plowmans today and got ir back together. Quiet and smooth like it should be
