Hand Held Diagnostic Unit Firmware
Hi - Does anyone know if the firmware that the EZGO diagnostic unit runs is available anywhere to download? I was wondering if there was any way that the Curtis PC Programming station could 'emulate' the EZGO diagnostics features?
Thanks |

Re: Hand Held Diagnostic Unit Firmware
It already does. You must not be familiar with the menu & button layout yet. The problem isnt the computer, its behind the keyboard.
As far as making your computer screen look "100% identical" to a handheld, you cant & would be losing a lot of features if you did. |

Re: Hand Held Diagnostic Unit Firmware
Ah, thanks. I'm not yet familiar with the operation of either. Still working my way through the 'Programming Curtis Controller' thread and trying to work out if I will be able to connect to a Curtis 1206AC 5201 and do anything useful with it. I guess from what you say, the Curtis PC Station 1314 would give me all that I need in terms of functionality?

Re: Hand Held Diagnostic Unit Firmware
Its "monitoring capabilities" far outmatch the handheld. With programming station, You can select anywhere from 1, to every parameter & record them while you drive, for review later. (But, the more you select, the lower the resolution of the recorded results)

Re: Hand Held Diagnostic Unit Firmware
Thanks cgtech. I've managed to make up an FTDI interface cable that 'emulates' the Curtis 1309 and I have now successfully connected to the controller with the PCPS v4.2.2 in OEM level. I see that profiles 1 to 5 are available for selection, but I presume to get 5 (Freedom) to work, you have to have 'Freedom Enable' set to 'On', but changing this parameter is not allowed in OEM level. Can this be done in 'Factory' level or is there another way/workaround?
Thanks in anticipation of your continued good advice. |

Re: Hand Held Diagnostic Unit Firmware
If you save a file while connected and then export that out. Once opened it will show you the level needed to make changes to that parameter.

Re: Hand Held Diagnostic Unit Firmware
You are in OEM (access level 4), 5 & 6 allow you to change that parameter.

Re: Hand Held Diagnostic Unit Firmware
What are levels 5 and 6 - are they Factory and Developer? I tried Factory Level but didn't see how that parameter could be altered. It was still 'write protected'.
