The ones I used do have some lag some times. If it's really bad overcast it will take it a bit to pick the signal up but that's not anything I worry about. These have trip and full amount in them. You can change the color as well. Some even have the turn signal LED lights and high beam indicator lights.

I used a Vanko S7 tablet that is equipped with a gps chip. I purchased a flip case for it and installed it by inserting the back of the flip in the golf cart plastic card holder. You can wire it to the batteries 5v using USB or simply charge it after each use. The internal battery lasts 8 plus hours.

In addition to speedometer you can install golf gps apps, google maps, Bluetooth speaker to play loaded mp3 and much more.

Cheap solution for me is a wireless bicycle computer (VDO), lot of functions ( clock, speedometer, odometer... ), no problems with missing gps
( Used with TXT modell and RXV now )

This one works well and has odometer that you can use similar to car odometer with total and trips
