Trojan Hydrolink Problem
Wondering if anyone has any experience with the Trojan Hydrolink watering system? Came with my cart and have been using it with no issues the past few months. Went to use it tonight, and water was coming out of the 2nd battery in the series. Pulled all the caps and the batteries all look full, so no idea what is going on.

i bought one to put on my trojans but only used it like once. Now the tubing has melted in a couple places from the batteries.

Re: Trojan Hydrolink Problem
We take these off of every cart that comes in with one...they curl nicely around the inside of the garbage can is the best thing I can say about them...

Re: Trojan Hydrolink Problem
Thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like the consensus is to toss it haha. Easy enough to water theses manually, and I'm sure I'll have a nice mess on my hands when i go to charge it next from the hydro-link overfill..

Re: Trojan Hydrolink Problem
Why is everyone pulling them off? My new batteries came with a hydrolink when I purchased them. I haven't had any problems.
NEVERMIND! I did a quick search and found out the issues! I will be pulling mine off tonight when I get home. |

Re: Trojan Hydrolink Problem
They work great when new...But normally they end up failing and by the time you realize it...Its to late..I don't trust it enough to depend on it based on past experiences, not to say they all fail...but they don't IMO warrant not seeing the water level for myself

Re: Trojan Hydrolink Problem
Also, while rare, battery explosions do occur and if the all the cells in a battery pack are linked together with what is effectively an explosive gas fuse, chain-fires can occur.

Re: Trojan Hydrolink Problem
Very dangerous systems. We've had some serious issues in my 1500+ cart community.
