Default G29 works without key

Hi,

Got a G29E that works without a key. Swapped out the main key switch with a brand new one but issue still occurs. Any idea's?

Check the voltage on red/yellow wire on your key switch. Something is feeding it voltage.
I have seen this happen when accessories like a USB port are installed using the key switch wire as the switched hot lead for the accessory.
The accessory leaks enough voltage to enable the controller.

We all make silly mistakes, we will not think badly of you. Please share as the information may just help someone else with the same issue. Sometimes the obvious is not so obvious.

You, yourself browsed for an answer first did you not?

Ok. I was like won't share the information because seems its a fault from Yamaha and it could get into wrong hands.

Found out that if you disconnect the - lead from the battery indicator. You can drive the cart without using a key. Found it silly to believe at first. So took another cart from this serial model range and disconnected the battery indicator. Same thing happend. Thought it must have been coincident. But with the 4th and 5th one I was certain.

I suspect that it has something to do with this

A voltmeter would show you that something is feeding the switched side of the key switch.
