Default About to rebuild drive and driven, help

Hi guys, my 1989 Marathon cart barely "shifts" to high gear... It's either the drive or driven. What parts should I order and what tools do I need to rebuild the two drives??

http://www.bennettgolfcarts.ca/parts.phpYou will need a puller or a bolt and puller rod for the drive clutch. The driven clutch should not need one. The driven clutch (if it's not comet) will require an internal ring clip pliers. As far as parts...it depends on what worn out. Spring, ramp shoes, weights, cam?? You'll need to identify those parts when they are apart.

www.bennettgolfcarts.ca/parts.php That link didn't work. I had to edit it and don't know if it's me or the other site.

BTT, does anybody know anybody that rebuilds these things? I don't have the time to get involved with it. I've been too busy out of town and don't know anything about these clutches... thanks.

There was one floating around here a while ago, not sure what cart is was for.
try a search for tool loan.
If you get them off, Tom at CPP should be able to help you out.

I am kind of thinking about taking off the driven clutch and see if I can find any obvious. I have c clip pliars, etc. All I need to do is remove the belt and the bolt holding it on and it'll come off? Is there anything inside that's going to put my eye out or jump to China when I take it apart? I figured I'd at least look at the driven before I go buying a puller etc... Does anything inside get lubed up? It's inconsistant when it "shifts" or hangs in "low" gear... I know it's not a gear, but you know.. thanks.

Great news, I found something broken!! Bad news, what spondor/vendor can get these to me by Saturday?? I have an event to go to this weekend and need my cart!!

I took of the driven clutch and found the "ramps" that are held in by phillips screws.... pretty well non existant. Should these be greased when I get the new ones in? This site rocks... thanks!

UPDATE, I bought a 3 new ramps at CPP..... paid for 2 day air... man, we're sick about getting our toys going ehh??? Thanks Tom... Keith
