Golf cart runs/starts fine but then it doesnt
I have an 85 ezgo marathon, 2pg 244cc. So, when i start the cart it runs perfect for about 20 minutes. Then if i stop, and it just sits without use, it won't start back up. I think the plug is just fouled. I don't think it is a fuel problem but please help me out.

Re: Golf cart runs/starts fine but then it doesnt
Will it even turn over after that or is it dead? When it does that lift up the seat and look at the drive (engine) clutch and see if it is still engaged. What happened to mine is that after extended driving the clutch would get hot and stay engaged (squeezed tight) and that will not let the engine spin. I would have to tap it with a hammer to get it to release and then it would start and move again.
When the clutch is released there should be roughly 4 inches or so between the top of the clutch faces (where the belt rides) and engaged there will only be the width of the belt. Good luck. |
