Re: slowing a G2 down
Well, drive it at half throttle. Do you see that as a problem? Or you could put some kind of "limiter" to the accel pedal travel.

Re: slowing a G2 down
well what i mean with the butterfly is that reving the engine the throttle dosent move any more open then it is from the start lol
thank you for the info's guys ill put them to good use on monday and see what i came come up with my pedal is rigged up with a cable to get the driver seat moved to another place and to do so i had to put a pully behind the pedal so it dosent have full motion so having it have a top speed of 5mph isent exactly what i need just about half pedal would be ideal tho if that makes sense |

Re: slowing a G2 down
read the bypasing the governor sticky. you may not want to do that but it basically explains whats going on down there. i did the gov. removal and my throttle butterfly is all the way closed when off and fully opened with it floored. you probably wont be able to do this quite the same as me as i got creative with the bracket to allow the butterfly to open all the way but it should help give you some insight. when stopped the butterfly(the flat piece of brass inside the throat of the carb) should be completely closed. it should only open when you give it some gas. sounds to me like your cables are stuck(this happens to me occasionally in the winter (Scary on snow)).

Re: slowing a G2 down
I see what you are doing, lots of fun in the shop. Adjust the throttle cable so you get no movement at the carb until the pedal is half way down or what works best. Loosen the screw on the governor arm to reduce top speed governed. Make sure the carb is at idle so the cart does not move when the pedal is down 1/4 or less.
