Go to the sticky above; "so your yami won't turn over"

Drain oil and only put in one quart.

Idle mixture screw/pilot screw, turn in till lightly bottomed out, then back out one and one half turns to start with. If it has not been driven for a while, it may need the carb cleaned out like you said. Dump old gas and replace with new.

Good luck, Mike

Rock, no, get the oil out of the filter, it may have ruined the filter by now. Oil on the filter will close the pours and the filter will not breath. Change the oil in the motor, put in only one quart. It had to much in the crank case, thats why it sucked it out the breather.

Then do the simple tests in the sticky. Follow Smallblocks instructions, that will tell you where the problem is.

Clean carb, dump old gas and replace with fresh.

Might even take a new spark plug with you.

There is an 18 gage wire connected to the starter ground lug, on the starter. It goes into the wire harness just in front of the starter, check to make sure it is clean and making a good contact, going into the harness.

More than likely, something simple!! Good luck Mike

Mike I'd be willing to put money if it just up and quit it's probably that switch on the gas pedal that failed

Quite possible Caj. But the sticky should lead him right to it.

Yes thank you guys it was just a bad connection going to battery.. very simple to fix. Now still having problems with it running.. I have to choke every time i start it.. just for a quick second though.. and it fires up.. Also 1 more question I recently bought a new battery for my golf cart. I have to have cables on it from my truck for it to work.. I have been running it all day working on it and trying to adjust it.. but it wont charge it..as soon as i pull cables off and go it wont start back up..

You may need to search some, because I can't remember the steps to trouble shoot the charging system. Its in a thread somewhere, I have read it not long ago.
