Default yami g2 lift ???

just got a 90 g2 cart and i am trying to put a lift kit on it and some tires, this cart is going to be given to my parents as a gift so im trying to spend little money.. my question is what is the difference in those economy 4 in lift for $100 and the rhox 6 in lift for $250 those are the most affordable kits i have found ... does anyone have a pic of what the cart will look like with the 4" lift or any suggestions thanks

I wouldn't use ether one. I would use a name brand; Jakes or allsports. Other 2 are china.
Read around on here, it will become obvious. One bends, the other breaks.

Safety, then resale value would be my reasoning.

The lift should say what tire it fits, usually the basic 4" does not but a better lift might fit 22s. The difference on a G2/9 is usually the cheap basic kits do not move the front arms forward, then any atv tire over 20" will hit the frame behind the tire where it widens out. They work ok with 20s, it is up to you, what I would recommend is a lift that fits 22s and there are way more 22s out there to choose from. I would recommend an atv rated tire those are usually 3-6 ply not 2, they are much harder to puncture if you go offroad and sidewalls are stronger. The 2 ply sometimes wallow or float around. Another issue is the cheap lifts say use the stock wheels that have no offset, if you buy wheels with offset they put the tire out more. This helps clear the tire inside the wheel well but also makes the cart more stable (and they can look way cooler). If you are just putting around a campsite then you don't need a big lift, though the 22s on offset wheels will look cooler for sure. With the right lift you can fit 23s on there, it gets close in the back you may have to cut the end off the rocker and mod the plastic well inside-like cut and wire it back to clear tires. To go larger takes some serious modification on this cart, usually the engine cradle has to be moved. If you have a photo of the lift the plates that move the front arms usually have bends in then to move the arms forward, or it will use a big bracket instead. The allsports seem to be a good cheaper lift, the jakes are one of the best far as quality. They must tell you what tire it fits or don't buy it, or ask them. For high speed off road the double arm high travel lifts work nicer, they are not really necessary at lower speeds but will ride nicer as well.

Most of the lifts for these simply push the rear shocks down via bracket on top of shock. The front the arms have to be moved down and for larger lifts forward. They put plates on the arm mounts and remount the arms on the bottom of plates. The shocks are the same deal just extended down. The jakes some have new arms that just mount in with a drop spindle, all that means is the spindle (part where the front tire turns left/right) is dropped down for the lift and the suspension largely stays where it was. Other carts have leaf springs and the lifts are different, the yami have coil over shocks the spring is on the shock.

I run 22x11-8 they work great, the atv rated tires the sidewalls are not that weak so they don't wallow around at all. I also have 8" wide wheels, 3+5 offset, that spreads the tires a little more.

Many use 10s just because....with 8s you need a special rim with a dished inner section to clear brake drums. Some lifts mod the steering arm/tie rods and will not fit inside 8" wheels. With a 10 or larger you avoid most all those issues and can run any wheel. An ATV 8 wheel will not fit any cart, you need to get a special wheel....but a plain 10" will fit a cart. Though you need some offset that really helps and is a big advantage over stock cart wheels that don't have any. Stock is 3.5/3.5" that is the rear and front half of the wheel, so they are 7" wide bead to bead. My 3+5 is 3 inside and 5 outside, gives me half inch more clearance inside and 1.5" more tire outside. Many wheels now are 3+4.

I bought my G9 wheels in '99 and didn't know much about this back then, a motorcycle shop guy said those would work they are douglas kart wheels special for golf carts with itp centers. There were no stores for that stuff like now. Today I would buy 10" or 12" wheels but these work fine. I really like some of the new mag styles. One thing I will say is I lifted this cart myself in 99 and still run it...so unless you are going to get rid of it soon or die soon or don't care, you might be stuck with your choice for a long time lol...a few extra dollars for cooler wheels in that case is something to consider.

Some people are running the more narrow tires now, ones for the front of ATVs. I wanted wide because of the sand around here they have great floatation. I can roll right over beach sand long as I don't have to climb a significant hill. Was about as aggressive a tire as I dare run that would not trash people's yards. The trailpro tire has pretty large knobs walmart used to have them not looked lately.
