I'm stumped here guys. I was chatting with Smallblock and he made a valuable point to just use wheel spacers in the rear. 1st, I won't need to "center" the transaxle. 2nd, I will save some money. If I just go with the wheel spacers, I will feel like I'm "cheating" myself out of a potentially sweet build... Anyone understand where I might be coming from? The build will take longer if I use the G8 axles and housings. On the other hand, my wife will be greatly appreciative if I stick with the spacers! All of you guys (and gals) are great and I value your opinions and any input or advice will be used effectively!

Tonka, I think its kinda up ta you. What your fabricating abilities are, how trick of a build you want, or need, and what are the performance gains of going with the 8 axles, over the spacers. I think I'd put my money into a 3 link swing arm set up!

And when your done, what is the value!

Remember that the ride and travel will get better if you go to a 3 or 4 link setup. That would be my rationale....but then again, my wife hates "golf cart time" too.

The Spacers are ok if you don't go more that 2". More than that and you might have bearing issues? It does put stress on the bearings from the added leverage.

I will say that I loved Groundpounder's cart, the way the back axles stuck out so far, it just looked mean. Sad that he sold it. Even sadder he didn't sell it to me.

Hey Mike, I may be putting the axles in! The value when I'm done is something that will stay in the family for a very long time!

I agree Slonomo, I will have to look on here for some help on the drop brackets and to remount the axle mounts...

Na Tonka, I'm just saying, you read once in a while, where some people claim ta have 10-12-14 thousand $ in a cart. And now they want to sell it. Well... Its not worth near that! Sand rail, a whole different story!

GP did that car because he is GP.
