New batteries are not charged until YOU charge them. Let the charger finish the cycle, then drive the cart.

Read this.
http://http://www.cartsunlimited.net...n_Methods.html While there, read everything with the word "Battery" in title. Lots of good info. |

Re: ezgo 2008 shudders
Even new batteries should be at 75% of their potential. Unless they have been shelved unattended for 6 months they should run the cart. Unless the cart has some serious cable & F&R resistance .... Unless one battery is installed backwards. Yes, backwards. I have gone out on that service call
Check the pack voltage at the main + and - and report back here |

Hi
Recharged the new batteries and it still shudders when you initially take off in either forward or reverse. Once it's going it goes along okay Any ideas? |

Possibly one battery dropping a cell under load. Connect a digital battery meter to the pack and watch it as you try to go quick from a stop..... what does the voltage start at and drop to?

Re: ezgo 2008 shudders
Thanks Scotty
I put my multimeter on and when I put my foot flat it went from 38.2v to 33.34v I think may be the hub or the brushes. Does that sound feasible? |

Re: ezgo 2008 shudders
Hi all
Well the problem has been solved. It appears that some moisture must have got into the motor and because the cart had been sitting a while some of the brushes were sticking. I cleaned the brushes, skimmed the computator, general clean and all is good. I hope this may help someone in the future. Thanks to everyone who gave advise. |
