Default reverse alarm question

It a 2007 PDS, (fwd/rev. rocker switch)
It is possible advisable, EASY to get to ....the alarm. I would like to disable the alarm or at least tone it down.
I think it's annoying and especially when I'm trying to be quiet in the woods
Can you guys point me in the right direction of the how, where's and why's THANKS

THanks! Sorry I didn't think to search it.
To be honest, I really would like to just quiet it down. I did consider the safety issues and did not know about the diags......

So how easy is it to get to? I will be happy just toning it down a bit. I thought about tape earlier and it seems that's what some folks do. (The ear plug is a good idea)
Do I have to drill out all the rivet to get to it? Or is there access to it that I just haven't found?
Not trying to by bypass the safety or step on toes.....

Get a giant common screw driver and remove cup holder. Some pop right off and some require a little wrangling. Horn is by the key switch but easy to find. Cover hole with tape or whatever. You can tone it down a little or all the way to almost silent. Because of safety and liability it's not a good idea to disable it.

the alarm is behind the dash near the key switch. to get at it you would need to remove the two rivits at the bottom of the mounting plate and lift up at the bottom. its not a lot of room......but that is where its at. OR pry off the cup holder at mentioned above and use a inspection mirror to look for it...

I recently purchased an L6 and wanted to disable or tone it down. I just reached up behind the dash via the inner flender well on the passenger side and found the buzzer with my hand and pulled one of the wires off. Perfect, no issues.

For the physical location of the beeper, look at the left side of the passenger side glove box, you'll see two pop-rivets. That is what holds the beeper in place.

I gained access to it to quieten it down while installing the keyswitch/FNR switch/ DVM panel shown here:
