Default Re: need help with factory voltage reducer wiring

So somehow this reducer is reducing the voltage on the negative wire?

So also, I should be able to put a positive probe on my pack positive, and the negative probe on this metal terminal block, and the voltage reading will be 4 volts LESS than the entire pack voltage?

This huge reducer box is no more than a resistor that squeezes the negative wire down to a smaller size? Positive wire that feeds the 3 fuse accessory block, lands on the 2nd battery positive?

That's correct. This device reduces the output from two 8v batteries to 12v. You use the + from the 16v source (2nd battery)

again not a very good system. works good for golf = occasional 12v use. Extended use results in battery pack imbalance which leads to early failure.

It seems then, the device would be in the positive line between the 16 v positive and the 12 volt accessory. That is how it makes sense to me ( electrical wiring) experience).

But I see many carts with this exact reducer, never had to mess withone.
