I use the Sav-A-Battery strictly as a maintainer only. It keeps my 48v pack at a constant 53.2v. After running I plug in my CC charger , when that is completely done I plug in the SAV-A-Battery. I have been using it for almost 4 months now without a problem. I will say honestly the longest its been plugged in without using the cart is 2 weeks.
Bought it here, best price at the time. ....http://www.nutrend.com/search.aspx?s...tery&pagenum=4

Why not use DPI charger instead? What are the advantages of Sav-A-Battery over the DPI charger ?

Cart already came with a charger. Older style without float or any other mode. This was more cost wise for me. $300.00 plus or $80.00. If I had to buy a new Charger I would check out a DPI for sure.As I said before, the SAV-A_BATTERY is STRICTLY A MAINTAINER.

Keep in mind that you have charging taking care of but have you thought about the water loss that will happen over time

While in the float stage, there is no gassing....it would likely take years for the water to get low while in float stage.....

The Save-A-Battery is a charger, maintainer, and a desulfinator all in one. I have had them on two carts now for at least 6 months and they have worked flawlessly. Wire it into your two last batteries, plug it into the wall and forget it. Keeps the batteries charged and maintained. No noise, no fans, no battery gassing. It just works. Best $80 I have spent on my cart.

I do not mean to sound really stupid, but I will anyway.

So with "Save A Battery 48 Volt 50 Watt Battery Charger Maintainer Desulfator 2365-48" for $72 + shipping

http://www.nutrend.com/p-49425-2365-48.aspx

You charger all cart batteries by plugin it into 2 last batteries in the chain?
