Default no slow speed

My 97 Club Car DS gas powered buggie no longer has a slow speed and it seems like that it now goes faster then before which is bad as I take the grand kids for rides and it only has high speed nothing in between. I have looked at it but see nothing is there a switch or something that controls the speed it looks like the cables are all working fine. this just started with no warning while driving it around. I need help so I can get back to driving the kids around my lot roads safely.
thanks

Check the butterfly in the carb. Sometimes they come loose and cause the engine to run wide open.

That's exactly what happens with a broken butterfly!
