1994 Marathon Governor Adjustment
Hello. I have a 1994 Electric Marathon. First, does it even have a governor? Second, if so, where? And lastly, if there is no governor, what can I do to make it go faster without forking out hundreds of dollars for motor, controller, solenoid, etc?
Thanks much! |

Congrats on getting a cart finally. Upgrade the wires first, but it would also help if we knew if you have a solid state cart or a resistor cart.

1994. Should be solid state.

Keep the tires inflated (20psi max) and make sure the brakes are not dragging. Least expensive way I can think of to get a mph. Or since you are a young man ask for peoples spare upgrade parts if they are changing out components. Many people will get rid of stuff not to have it sitting around.

Re: 1994 Marathon Governor Adjustment
Would you believe me if I told you that I have personally worked on 1999 model E-Z-GO carts that still used Resistors? Trust me, I don't ask questions just to hear myself talk. I have personally owned a 1994 Marathon that was resistor coil driven.

look between the batteries. If you see a black box it's a solid state.

Re: 1994 Marathon Governor Adjustment
There are methods for adding extra batteries that could get you more speed, but without the proper electronic upgrades you are basically stuck with the speed you have.
