If you just do the motor upgrade (stay with 36 volts)will you have to upgrade the wires and solenoid?

You don't "Have to" upgrade any of it. You can get buy with the cables. I have ran a 36 volt solenoid with no trouble at all.....then other times the solenoid will not last 2 days. It all depends on what YOU WANT to do.

Anytime I am looking for performance improvement in an electric cart I upgrade cables. Think of the cables as the roadway for the electricity...you have tiny city streets with potholes & street lights. New Upsized cables are like a freeway for amps!

i have a 95 medalist.i think all 4 wheels lock.gravel flies everywhere.in front & from the back.its kinda hard to see all 4 wheels in the seat.just going by what it feels like & seeing gravel.i just found another 1 on ebay for 275.you have to pick it up in arksnsas

I don't think a medalist has four wheel brakes unless added aftermarket. But I've been wrong before.

With the cart sitting still (no gravel flying), turn the steering wheel all the way to one side. Now get out and look at the backside of one of the front wheels. If you don't see a cable or a hydraulic line going into the backing plate, you don't have 4 wheels of brakes....
