Re: buying TXT 2013
The 2013 TXT models are all 48v using 8v batteries. EZGO changed from 36v to 48v in all TXT's around 2010.
A dealer or seller indicating the cart has T8 batteries doesn't necessarily mean the battery date code is T8 but rather it has Torjan 8V batteries I'm sure. To double check look for an engraved letter/number code on the battery, the letter is month of manufacture and the number is year. An hour meter in an electric cart indicates how much pedal time the cart has seen. The throttle pedal must be pushed for the hour meter to start recording. So your 418 is the hours the cart has been in motion since meter was installed. 418 hours in 15 months is ~29 hours per month or almost an hour every day average. This is probably typical of a golf course cart. |

Re: buying TXT 2013
I might be able to get a new set of batteries.
what about the motor time? Is 418 cosine red a lot for 15 months ? Quick math gives abit less than 1 hour day Edit: sportcoupe thanks for the info, sent the message before I saw yours |

Re: buying TXT 2013
No problem. I'll bet a beer that cart has the original 2013 batteries in it and NOT 2008 batts.

Re: buying TXT 2013
Since the Letter & Number stated is "T8", it isn't a battery date code, or at least the last time I checked, there were only 12 months per year (IE: A through L).

Re: buying TXT 2013
Sounds like the Trojan T-875 batteries are in there. They are great batteries. I have them in two of my carts

Re: buying TXT 2013
My guess is that they are one of these two. (attached spec sheets --- one is a JPG file and the other is a PDF file.)
160AH is the smallest AH capacity 8V cart battery Trojan sells these days. |

Re: buying TXT 2013
yes it is the one in the pdf.
i couldnt find them anywhere to see how much they cost, any idea ? i know it is impossible to know, but assuming the batteries are 15 months old, do you have an educated guess how long they have left? |

Re: buying TXT 2013
Quote:
Battery lifespan is shorter in warmer climates. The deeper they are routinely discharged, the shorter the lifespan. The longer they are allowed to sit in a partially discharged state, the shorter the lifespan. The lower the AH capacity, the shorter the lifespan. A well maintained set of T-875 (170AH - 8V) batteries in a moderate climate (IE: only gets above 77°F in Jun-Jul-Aug) that is put on charge after each use, may have 4 or 5 years of usable lifespan. The TV8 (160AH - 8V) will have about 6% less based on AH capacity alone. If they were well maintained (Cleaned, watered, etc) and charged after each use, they might be good for another 15 months, or they might last another two years, or they might fail next week. |
