I am willing to "sacrifice" the newer Energizer higher rated (235 AH) rated batteries pulled down to the year older Crown 220 AH rated batteries as I can rebuy the Energizer's next spring at a discounted price for my trailer. But if I was to ruin the entire mixed battery pack, do not want to do that. Cannot get the Crown's locally anymore.

And I cannot recall if the DPI chargers are voltage specific or switchable between 42 and 48?
Yes, mixing batteries of differing ages and AH rating will impact all of the batteries involved, but mostly the new batteries will be brought down to the performance level of the older, lower AH batteries. Unless one of the older batteries was about to fail anyways, they will probably have about the same life expectancy as they would have if the battery pack had stayed at 36V.

The DPI chargers are voltage specific, but you can change a 42V DPI to a 48V DPI by changing the PC board.
The charging circuit consists of a transformer and PC board, and both the 42V and 48V use the same transformer.

A new DPI charger cost about $300 while the PC board only costs about $135.
