Scotty B reverse contact and buzzer
Started putting things back together on my frame up rebuild and added a super duty reverse contact from Scotty. I read everything I could find in the forums and studied the diagrams. I think I've got it wired correctly but haven't put the batteries back in, as I've got other work to do, and it's nice not having to worry about arcing. Again, I'm fairly confident that I've done it correctly but I was curious if there's any catastrophic mistake to watch out for.
My other question has to do with a couple of small gauge wires I have left over. One is an orange wire that was connected to a small pin next to B+ on my controller. The other end was connected to a small black switch (?) on my old f/r. There is also a small black wire that was connected to the negative side of the solenoid and the reverse buzzer. I'm assuming both of these had to do with the reverse buzzer but just trying to confirm. The cart is a 2001 ezgo 36v series thanks |

Re: Scotty B reverse contact and buzzer
The orange wire tells the controller to run at 1/2 speed when in reverse.
The black wire is the B- connection to the beeper. If you want 1/2 speed reverse, connect the orange wire to the reverse terminal on the rocker switch (or the positive coil terminal on the reverse solenoid) There is also a red wire going to the beeper, If you want the beeper to sound when cart is in reverse, connect the red wire from beeper to same place as the orange wire. |

Re: Scotty B reverse contact and buzzer
JohnnieB, thanks for squaring that away for me. I should have been able to figure that was what the orange wire was for, but it's great to have confirmation.
The diagram supplied with the contactor shows exactly how to hook up a buzzer but I wasn't completely sure of what each of my old wires was for. I'll say again how much I appreciate all of the help this forum provides. |
