Default Anyone know what this is and if anyone would sell it?

I need to replace this part. It is attached to a gray wire coming off the charging receptacle of a 2008 ezgo rxv.

I had the same thing on my 2010 Ezgo TXT48. I don't know what it does. I suspected it was part of the charger safety interlock?

It is a temperature sensor and the grey wire is actually 2 small wires in a grey cover. You can buy it as a replacement part. It feeds temperature information to the PC board in the charging port.

That sounds reasonable, but I cannot find it anywhere on the interwebs. Any ideas where I could buy one?

I thought someone else might jump in and tell you of an alternative source. You can try the E-Z-GO store at shop.ezgo.com or wait for one of the others to stear you to another vendor. E-Z-GO tends to sell assemblies (like a whole PCB with a sensor attached, or a new charger port assembly) and is typically very proud of their parts. Read that as expensive. Soldering the leads of a replacement sensor to your existing PCB would likely be less expensive. As long as your PCB is good, why replace it. I'm not at home and my manuals are in my car at my buddies shop, so I can't look up any part numbers for you right now.

The part is a thermister attached to a terminal lug so it can read the temperature of the battery post, which conducts heat from inside of the battery. The charger needs to monitor battery temperature. By encapsulating that thermister in a plastic block, it makes it more resistant to environmental dangers such as battery acid. They do crack and leak over time, and fail.

You can buy just the temp sensor from Fullriver battery, or any other Delta Q vendor. Ezgo is only gonna want to sell you a whole new charge port.
