Default PowerwiseII charger trouble

I think my charger is not working correct. Is there a way to easily test it? It comes on when plugged in but only shows a couple amps. Normaly goes up to around 30 then comes down as it charges. I used the cart and played 17 hole then suddenly the batteries seemed real low. The cart ran good till then. The baatteries seemed full charged. Took home put on charge and still only showed a few amps while on charge. This is a 2007 cart and does not have a meter to show the battery charge level.

Define a couple of amps? 1-5 amps on the meter?
Chargers are easy to repair and normally cost right around 100 bucks to fix if a shop does it.
Diodes or capacitor normally is the cause of your issue if that is the case.
You need a meter to check these

Borrow a friends charger and try it. You need to get batteries recharged asap. You can take your charger and see how it works on a friends cart. That is the easy way to test it.

PowerWeasel should be pushing the battery voltage to the 45v range when it is at a 1-3a rate. What's it doing on your cart?

2-3 amps on the charger meter is what i see. I checked the volts on the batteries with the charger on 36.7 volts. Took charger off and batteries show 36 volts. I don't have access to another cart or charger.

Sounds like i need to take charger into shop and have it checked out. I don't know enough to do any checks myself. Thanks for the help.

or better yet......if you can afford it, buy yourself a new DPI charger and get rid of the Powerwise.....the DPI has a built in float mode after it finishes charging.

Ok what is a float mode? What does the dpi cost. I see we are almost neighbors. I am from Danbury, Tx. Does Mr. Jenkins out on hwy36 still work on carts?
