Default 48v w/ Alltrax 500, what after market motor?

Curious what motor guys are running with their Alltrax. I just burned up my stock motor so curious what you all have had success with? Any horror stories as well are welcome. Just dont want to run the risk of frying another one so tips there would be great too.

I did the same thing with my stock motor. Now I am running the Admiral D2. It has been good so far! It has been about 3 months.

I burned up my stock Yamaha motor - switched to a D&D and it runs nice and cool. I have my controller dialed down to 400 Amps (It's a 500 Amp Alltrax) I had it dialed to 400 amps when I overheated the stock motor too. I have run the D&D for 6 months now. I have a temperature monitor on it and it's running nice and cool.

I just bought an EMP for a very heavy limo cart. Custom wind with a built in thermostat to detect overheating. Cart probably runs high teens now with I think 22" tires and the standard rear end(12 something to 1). Can be made to run faster but I wanted slow because it was going to be used in parades..

Matt, Think I've been hounding you on youtube. Both Scotty and Alltrax recommended the B2, what's the difference between that and the D2? Can I ask why you chose that one?

Hi. I believe the D2 is the high speed and the B2 is the torque. My cart is on road only, little hills, and only 19 inch tires.... so no need for torque.

Ya I'll get the speed when I put the lift on with the tires and routinely take 4 people so I'm gonna go with the torque. Hopefully I can get close to what I have now ~23. We'll actually it's 0 right now ;)

I just upgraded my 2012 TXT 48V with an XCT 500. I set the amps to 400 and pretty much left everything else alone. What kind of motor did you have stock and do you remember your settings on the controller? Mine is an AMD DL9-4006. I'm just curious so that I can prevent the same thing from happening. I'm not ready to splurge on an upgraded motor just yet.

That is the same motor I burned up on my TXT 48V with XCT500 set to 400 amps. I think mine was mostly due to the way I was driving. It was 103° F day in Dallas, I had 5 people on the cart, we were driving very slow in the hilly part of town.

I grew up in Houston know there aren't many hills around. Just don't drive slow with a lot of extra weight on any hills you do find!

Good to know. Are you liking the D2? I will later go with that or a Bandit. haven't decided yet.
