Default 96 ezgo txt goes in reverse but NOT foward

Bought a used cart with new Trojans. Was working fine but now sometimes will not go foward. It will always go in reverse but only occasionally goes foward.
It has a NCX alltrax controller. When in foward and not working, it is green til I push the pedal and then it gives 5 red blinks. I can’t find any info on 5 blinks. I had a new solenoid laying around and I replaced that to see if it made a difference. Didn’t work. Replaced microswitch on FR switch and that didn’t work.
It also had the reed switch bypassed. I checked all connections.
Any suggestions?

5 red blinks is an open field circuit.

I know how to check the connections but how do I check the field resistance?

Unplug the field cables (F1 & F2) from the controller and measure the resistance between the two disconnected wires with an Ohmmeter. Should only measure a few Ohms.

My dad was set on getting a plum quick motor. Sent the motor to plum quick and had it redone. Re installed it and still having the same issue. Could you explain what I’m looking for on measuring the field? Is this how to check the controller?

If the motor just came back from Plum Quick, I'm 99.99% sure the field windings are good, that leaves two possibilities for the 5 Red (open field) error code.
1. Controller field cables (F1 & F2) are not connected to the F1 & F2 studs on motor (open cable or cables)

2. Bad controller.
