click then no click

2002 ezgo pds. Cart was running slow and dianostic mode pointed to welded solonoid. I replaced the solonoid but in the process of reconnecting negative back to pack I dropped socket wrench and it fell across 4 of the batteries giving me a 24volt weld on my wrench.
Finished repair reached over and tapped go pedal. Solonoid clicked and cart moved. I put seat back on, get on and press go pedal... nothing. No click. I run the dianostic from this forum and grudgingly decide I've blown controller because nothing gets pointed out. I send controller off for rebuild and it comes back today. Install it. Test go pedal and get click and cart moves. I put seat on and get on... nothing. No click. Nothing.
I've yet to run through the dianostic again too frustrated tonight. I did try dianostic mode but I get the acknowledgement beep but nothing else. What could possibly be happening? I've succeeded in diagnosing a few other carts but I can't understand this one.

More info: batteries are 6 months old and perfect. 2 guage wires less then a year old. The only thing not new on the cart is the micro switch and ITS in the floor compartment and the motor.

An 02 PDS got solenoid activation power from the charge receptacle. See if there is power on the red/wht wire.
