1995 medalist motor reclocking
I just installed a lift kit in my 1995 Medalist. The bottom cables on the motor are below the battery tray. I pretty sure I can rotate the motor a quarter of a turn to bring them back up. Just wanted to ask to make sure I can.

Re: 1995 medalist motor reclocking
Sure can, as long as all the bolts line up. My 1998 only uses 3, and can easily be rotated.

Mine uses three bolts also. I believe there is a forth hole I can use, I just haven't checked yet. Just wondering if anyone knew.

Re: 1995 medalist motor reclocking
Mine also has four holes. I recall more than one post where folks rotated their motor, for various reasons.
Don't worry. A motor doesn't care how it's installed, as long as it's secure. All it does is spin. |

Re: 1995 medalist motor reclocking
If you rotate the motor, you will put your forward speed 1/3 of a turn out of phase, reducing your top speed by 1/3, and totally eliminating reverse.
JUST KIDDING! Won't be any problem, as long as you get 3 bolts to line up again. But you better check your wire bearings & blinker fluid! |

Re: 1995 medalist motor reclocking
It's good to ask if you're unsure. Better safe than sorry. In this case, there is NO reason NOT to rotate. Just make sure the four studs where the cables connect are free from contacting anything. Maybe have someone jump up and down on the rear seat or bagwell, to be sure.
