Default Battery Meter Issue

I recently purchased a 2009 precedent with dead batteries.

I installed new batteries couple days ago and charged them fully. Every time I charge them up the battery meter goes back up to full bars and 100% charged, but decreases fairly fast without using. For instance, I charged after use last night, and within an hour the meter was half full. This morning it was blinking and on the lowest level. The meter never actually turns off either, even when no key is input, so not sure if that could be an issue.

I've read threads on here about the meters being unreliable in general, but for it to decrease so fast has me worried.

If this is a bar style meter you might as well be guessing at the voltage. They're not much use.

Switch to a digital voltmeter and have the peace of mind knowing correct voltage readings.

Scottyb can hook you up!
