Mystery issue - can you solve it?
I have a 97 gas EZGO. When I bought it I replaced the fuel pump, it's ran fine since. Last weekend the wife and kids were driving it around the camp ground and it died. You could get it to turn over but that's it. I pulled it back to camp and tooled with the fuel supply (thinking it was something with that). Well, I gave up a few minutes in because we went boating.
Came back this weekend and now NOTHING... won't turn over or make a peep. Nothing. I tried switching the battery and jumping the solenoid. Nothing. Any ideas? |

Remove the plate the ignitor, coil, etc are on. Use a wire wheel and grind away the bottom of the plate as well as the body below it where it mounts. Make sure that plate is properly grounded or you can have no spark and a whole bunch of issues. Most of those components ground directly to that plate, which gets ground through how it mounts to the body. They tend to corrode and rust between them and lose the ground path

Use a DVOM set to 20 volts DC. Connect red lead to battery and start touching ground connections with the black lead. That plate CP 241 mentioned is bad to get rusty . Did you remove it like he mentioned and clean it ?
