Default Current BMS and Charger suggestions?(12/2020)

About to wrap up the parts list for my leaf conversion. I'm looking for the most user friendly BMS I can get. Is the Zeva worth the money or is a cheap Chinese one really just fine?

Sorry I'm super paranoid about doing this swap and just want to make sure I've got everything right. If I were to add another pack would I need another BMS?

Additionally the link I had for a charger has expired, is there a preferred selection on amazon/ebay?

I wouldn't trust a Chinese anything if the consequences of failure are catastrophic.

A lot of people are happy with the ZEVA but in my personal opinion, its balance current is too small for larger packs. Not sure how big your leaf conversion is, but I use REC BMS for my 25kWh off-grid system.

I don't think the Zeva is appropriate for anything over 100 amphour capacity, and that's even pushing it.

Batrium makes a fine BMS as well, but its a bit pricey.

Don't cheap-out on the BMS.. its the most important part of your lithium battery, especially if a failure can burn your home down.

Zeva will handle a Leaf double pack just fine.

The plus about going with the Zeva setup is the monitor that interfaces with it. You can adjust parameters on the fly, monitor cell voltages and see real time amp draw without having to pull out your phone to check an app. Ian (the owner of Zeva) is very good at answering questions and giving advise over email too.
