83 ezgo transformation
This is my first golf cart. I didn't know what I was getting into when I bought it. I paid $450.
Right away I bought a battery and a new ignition switch. I tried to start it, got excited but nothing happen. So I got on eBay and started spending! I got a new solenoid, voltage regulator, starter gen brushes, 18ga wire, ring terminals, air filter, carburetor and fuel pump. After replacing what I suspected was bad; I tried starting it again, signs of life started to appear. So I rolled up my sleeves and went all in. [IMG][/IMG] |

I stripped down as far as I wanted to go and washed everything.

This cart has been painted a few times... Lots of use and love from previous owners.

Found a crack. Don't judge me too hard, this is only my second time welding aluminum.

Re: 83 ezgo transformation
I learned more about two strokes! I did a compression test and it was 60 Psi so I decided to get a new cylinder and piston since they still make them. Also replaced the bearings and crank seals.

Re: 83 ezgo transformation
I spray painted the body, cut some new wood for the seats, and double wrapped it with 4-way stretch vinyl. I made a bully/brush guard out of some black pipe I bought from lowes. Then added some old tractor lights.

Re: 83 ezgo transformation
The reason I bought this cart was for my little girls. I wanted to impress them and drive them to the pool in the summer time. I'm addicted now so there will be more upgrades in the future. The end.

"The End" Love that! Cool old cart, I really like when someone saves one of the old ones and restores it. Nice job and welcome to the addiction!!
