Advice for first time cart owner
I just purchased a 2001 EZ GO with the 2+2 seating option. The model number is C101 and SN#1350523. From what I have read it is a "series" cart and does not have the tow/run switch on the controller cover. The cart currently is not lifted but does have some nice aftermarket wheels on it.
What would you guys recommend as far as: Speed upgrades, what are my options Lift kit (yes or no and which type) Batteries are about 5 years old, should I bite the bullet and switch to 48V? The cart will be used at the lake to run down to the boat dock and to the neighbors house. There are hills to deal with as well. I am a little concerned about the stability of the cart if I lift it - what's everyones thoughts on this as well. Thanks in advance for everyones help! |

Re: Advice for first time cart owner
One more question, how do I know if it is a Medalist or TXT cart?
I was looking at Battery Cables on one of the sponsors site and noticed a big difference between the cables for the dif models. |

Love my lift and the additions. PM me if you ahev any questions about whom I purchased through, Intall, etc... With the lift Kit stabitlity is no problem if you add larger wheels and tires. 22x 11x(10-12) will give you plenty of stance with a 5" lift. FAW |

Re: Advice for first time cart owner
any lift kit widens the frt a little so stability is not an issue, but you can turn them over if you get stupid. We have done it here. Adding bigger tires will increase your speed due to tire height, mayb 2-3 but it still adds speed. As far as batteries go with TROJANS. they ar the best and last 5+ years.
you have a txt fleet cart if you have the f-n-r switch behind you right leg. As far as speed you will have to change controller and motor to really gain any speed. It is alos recommended that you change all cables to 4ga, not just battery to battery. |

Re: Advice for first time cart owner
Thanks CC. I also found out my cart is an early 2001 because it has 3 bolts that hold the steering column in place. I am going to switch out the cables and batteries soon. Now I need to decide which type of lift kit to go with; spindle lift or long travel?
