Sit tight, MMT ain't done complaining to the engineers yet My qoute to them was, "Maybe you guys need to start asking us in the field on what to build? 300 amp is useless in my opinion. Looks like we have 1/2 of a great idea"... |

Re: EZGO PDS Vehicle Performance System Release!!!
EZGO carts (PDS) built after August 2008 will have the VPS controller as OEM equipment. VPS controller is standard equipment now. This controller is the same unit in all new ST Sport 2+2 electrics. There was a software change, which may or may not have changed the thermal overload settings? All I can say is that the new 2+2's really haul balls. I was thinking they had a 400 amp. but come to find out it is a 300...

I'm on the phone with them now as I type. I'm asking them to tell me the difference of the standard PDS controller and the one in the 2+2's that DO NOT have a thermal overload problem... |

Re: EZGO PDS Vehicle Performance System Release!!!
It should be just fine, as this is the same controller now being installed in the ST Sport 2+2 lifted carts (electric). All I was told is that the "software" was changed, which may or may not have an effect on the thermal overload. I have not heard of any issues on the newer PDS style Factory lifted 2+2's. I wish there was a 400 amp available, but right now it is a 300 amp. I think the VPS system is a great idea, now we just need some 'field testing' to see what's up with it.
Knowing about the stock controller upgrade in late 2008 makes you seriously re-consider buying a 'rebuilt' stock controller now... |
