Controller questions?
I am thinking of upgrading the controller in my 2004 E-Z-GO PDS.
Stock motor and wheels(18-9.50-8 Turf Savers on the rear), 4 gauge welding cable throughout, switchable "speed chip". Looking at the Alltrax DCX 400 PDS. I spend about 2/3 of the time commuting back and forth to work, and the other third is out in the woods. (hills, creeks, etc.) I don't really think I will go the whole "lift-kit/big tire" route but I do take the stock controller into the occasional thermal shut-down. I am not after monster torque or speed, but some improvement in both. What would this controller do for my set-up? What solenoid should I get to go with it? Thanks in advance for any feedback. Russ |

Re: Controller questions?
That controller would be fine. I have used that controller with a factory solenoid before without a prob, but i would recommend you get a HD solenoid.
I doubt you notice any more speed, but you will notice little torque increase in the woods. PDS carts are real easy to make go into thermal shutdown. I have made a brand new cart do that with factory 300 amp controller. Pulling a 99 F-250 diesel 4x4 probably had something to do with it too. |
