97 ez go post governer adjustment backfire
followed the governer adjustment guide on here. Adjusted mine slightly (not as much as in the picture)
After running it for a while yesterday like after 1/2hr heard a loud pop out the exhaust then continued driving heard another pop after a few more minutes (like the engine is back firing) wondering how to adjust carb valves as mentioned in this thread http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-...4-strokes.html a picture would be very helpful or i could post a pic and you guys could circle the screw for me. |

Read the first part of this link on routine maintenance. It will tell you how to adjust the butterfly in the back of the carb. so it shuts completely when you let off the accelerator. This should probably fix your problem. |

Re: 97 ez go post governer adjustment backfire
The only adjustment on the carb. for the four strokes is a low idle mix... There is only one so there should be no mixup. I really don't think its gonna make any difference in the backfiring b/c it only adjusts low speed idle mix. If you have a backfiring issue, I'd say you have valves out of lash, a timing issue or a butterfly adjustment problem as mentioned above.
