What HP do I have
I can read this on my elec motor tag:
Rating: AU 2800 10-31-06 Class II Serial # 20 Volt DC 36/48 Part # XP2129 How may HP? Is it 36 volt or 48 volt? I can't get into position to read the manufacture name. The cart is a Western Elegante on a EZ Go Chassis. |

Re: What HP do I have
Most likely a stock 2HP at 36 volts. It will run on either.

Re: What HP do I have
No, I can guarantee you its not 6 or 7 HP. 2 HP is all most carts have. It's a stock motor, now which stock motor is another story. The 2800 is the motor RPM....which is what most, if not all, stock 2hp motors are rated at. If its 42 volts its going to be a little higher than 2, or even a 3 or so but not 6 or 7. Feel free to search the motor if you want.

Re: What HP do I have
That number, Part # XP2129, doesn't come up in anything Ive found. It could be a reworked motor or an off-brand. They do have some 5HP's that are generally coupled with a 400 amp controller. (not sure what you have cause no details are listed) If its a stock 250-275 amp curtis then it won't be a 5. Electric motor HP is different than an internal combustion engine. You'd be surprised at what an electric motor is capable of. I'd go with what the sticker says.

Re: What HP do I have
The current 48 volt E-Z-GO TXT is rated at 3 continous hp. The club car precedent 48 volt has 3.3 hp. The yamaha drive has 3.5 hp. golf carts don't have very much power, with a custom controller you could have 5 hp, but if you have a standard ezgo one expect standard ezgo power.
