Default need advice on making my TXT faster

hey guys, new to the forum here and pretty much a virgin in carts all together. anyways, just bought a 2005 EZ-GO TXT. its a 36volt with the extra passengers seat on the back. my question is, how do i make this thing faster. i got a buddy who has an EZ-GO from the same year and his is definately faster. I'm not trying to make a hot rod outta the thing, but being able to tool around town at a faster clip would be ideal. any advice on this would be GREAT. thanks guys.

need more info on cart. is it a series cart or pds cart.

series - f n r switch b/h rt leg
pds - push button f n r on dash

both are different and have to be approached differently.

first thing you need to do is upgrade all wires to 4ga. this will help with torque not speed. but is necessary for future upgrades.

Speed is a little harder to get in a series cart. They are made more for torque than speed. It can be done and they are very durable at it but it takes a bit more doing than a sepex cart for speed. You will need to upgrade the Controller, Solenoid, all Cables, and Forward and Reverse Switch. Then you will be ready for speed mods like any one or a combination of the things below:
Speed motor (PQ Bandit or a rewind)
Taller gears or a lift kit & taller tires
Running the stock motor on Higher Voltage (48 volts) is a great way to increase torque and speed by as much as 30%
