Re: Carryall I - No go, no click
That is a 16 volt to 12 volt reducer. Very well could be. Take the grounds off that rail and put them on the main ground for the battery pack.(that is if your positives or on the battery beside main negative.) If your accesories work that would be the problem. I've never liked them. I would rather have a 36 to 12 or a 48 to 12 volt reducer. That way it draws evenly on all batteries instead of just 2.

Re: Carryall I - No go, no click
Well, thank you gentlemen! New solenoid and the machine runs great!
And for those who deal with idiotic repair facilities, I ran it several miles without the new resistor connected, and it ran fine. (I forgot about it until I was cleaning up the tools after the job). I only bring this up because my local shop warned me "If the resistor is bad, the cart won't run". Wrong! 18mph on 2 separate handheld GPS's, not bad! |

that potted device is a reducer i,m not sure which voltage but i see plenty of 48 to 12 reducers that are identical to whats there......so it was a bad soleniod huh.............................

Re: Carryall I - No go, no click
Yes, sir, appears to just have been a bad solenoid. You nailed it on post #2!
Put 3 miles on it last night, went just fine. Another question: What does this red wire go to? There are 3 wires coming from the middle microswitch on the F-N-R lever. Black from the switch connects to Red/white stripe Blue from the switch connects to Orange Red from the switch is simply cut and hanging |

Re: Carryall I - No go, no click
Nah, reverse buzzer does work, unfortunately... I would disconnect it, but don't need a lawsuit.
Not really impressed with that connection on the blue wire, either! Some hack has been mucking about with my electrical! (Besides me, that is!) |

Re: Carryall I - No go, no click
Well, I still can't find my schematic, but it would appear that the middle limit switch does indeed only control the buzzer:
And it appears that only 2 wires are used, connecting to the red/white and orange wires... So it appears that all is just fine! Thanks again for the help Tom! |

Re: Carryall I - No go, no click
Hmm, new question.
Kids drove the cart for a few miles over the past few days. Battery light has been coming on frequently. So, I plugged the machine in. Charges at roughly 16 amps for 30 sec or so, stops for a bit, resumes charging, but then, within 3 minutes, stops, like it thinks it's done. Strange. I check pack voltage. Down around 47volts, pretty low. I try resetting the computer. Now the charger won't even do the initial charge! I think this is strange. Just for the heck of it, I try to move the cart while the charger is plugged in. It moves! Battery light flashes briefly, and the charger begins charging! Been charging at about 4 amps for an hour now, pack voltage is indeed rising. What's going on? |
