Hey Scottyb,

That sounds like a good idea. So tomorrow I'm go'na play around on the cart a little, top off the water level, move the charger to a good power source and after dinner we will try again.

I have found this Quick Charge QP charger with digital display, automatic systems and it's made in Okie City which is almost like family to us Texans.
So I think that will be my next purchase.

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

Danny

A 6 volt battery fully charged and settled is 6.37 volts. Anything more than that is surface voltage it can not hold and while you can feel the boost when you first hit the gas ~ That surface voltage burns off quickly.

I have no idea what surface voltage is but they all checked over 7.3. Am I doing something wrong in checking these? I am checking red on + and black on - on each battery individually. How do you check the series? Do you red on the + in and - on the last battery in the loop? I'm a newbie and want to do this right. Thanks for the help

Hey Bigned,

The group voltage is read from the batteries at both ends of the series.

There should be one POSITIVE POST & one NEGATIVE POST that is not conected to another battery.
This is where the cables from the charger will connect to the group.

Set you Volt Meter to 200 (or anything above 50), and take a reading between these two posts.
