I would be hard presse to believe that the Deka batteries are 2.5 times better, and will last 2.5 times longer than the Deka.

Have fun, Dave
I have never seen 12V golf cart batteries at Sam's. Now, if you are compairing golf cart batteries to boat batteries, thats like saying How could the Shelby Mustang be 2.5 times better than the Escort! Apples and oranges. Now, if Sam's has a 12v cart battery for $78.00 then I would think hard about it also.

Remember, Grouperdog was a person that was desperately seeking a set of batteries on a Sunday when cart stores are closed . . . we were pointing out options that were do-able in a pinch, which is why I believe Marine batteries were mentioned . . . . seems the "crisis" has passed . . . .

Is US Battery a good value? I was there to purchase two 6v batteries for a communications trailer. When I found the 12v golf cart bat I had to step back and do some research... there is not much info out there on the GC12:

Would it be better to have the single GC12 or two GC2? I need 12v for the inverter and as many Ah as the project budget will allow. Sorry grouperdawg if not on topic.

FWIW, I bought a set of 8V's at Sam's back in '02. They are STILL holding up, believe it or not. Mind you, I am fanatical about keeping them charged and always keep the water topped of with distilled. I have never let them go dead (ever) and over the winter months I keep the charger on them to work automatically. I realize that this coming Spring I will most likely need new ones and guess where I'll buy them? Sams. Not Trojans. In my opinion, Trojans are over priced and over-rated. Just my opinion, though...

My Sam's club has that battery for $184. I am in Florida. That seems like a Trojan price to me.
